Rosie’s session is one of my very favorite sessions. You see, Rosie and I are a lot alike. We both have sensory processing issues. If you’re unfamiliar with SPD, you’re not alone. Not many people know about it or understand what it’s like to live with SPD. Sensory processing disorder is a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses. This can make many social settings, including photoshoots, stressful for people (especially children) with SPD. There’s a ton of great information on the internet about SPD like this video.

I love working with children with special needs because I can relate to them. It brings me joy to give them and their family a fun, and stress-free experience. Rosie’s mother, Sarah, is an amazing photographer and mother. She is one of my mentors and one of my biggest supporters. When she booked Rosie’s session with me, I was so honored. I was beyond flattered when Sarah wrote this sweet review after our session.

“Finding something special for a 4-year-old to do on her birthday is not always the easiest of tasks. Especially when you have a kiddo that has sensory processing issues. I won’t lie, I was a little worried at first about how Rosie might behave during a session like this. However, Stacie Paris assured me that she had it covered and all would go well.

When we walked in the door of her studio the dress was standing in the middle of the room and Rosie’s eyes lit up. From start to finish it was nothing but giggling and fun. She was focused (which is rare) and glowing! She had a blast.

Stacie’s creative nature is so welcoming to a little kid from her different props, to moonlight, Rosie was engaged the entire time. The dress was straight out of a fairytale. It was something like I have never seen. Rosie fell in love with Stacie immediately. There was no tantrum, no crying, no being scared. They were the best of friends and had a wonderful time.

Before we left, I already scheduled all my kids to do her Mariposa Limited Editions because I myself am a butterfly lover. The experience was flawless, Stacie was absolutely precious and the finished product just wowed us. My husband and I have both laughed, cried, and looked at the photos over and over again. Rosie has not stopped looking at herself for days.

If you are looking for something super special to do with your daughter for a birthday, special occasion, or just because this is such a perfect thing to do. It is not only photo memories you can have forever, but it is an experience. Stacie really does make little girls become princesses for a day and all their dreams come true.”
